We would love to hear from anyone with time on their hands who fancies getting involved in our project of recycling and reusing waste wood for the benefit of the community.
The success of the community wood recycling model is built upon the hard work and commitment of our volunteers.
Volunteers are always in demand and no experience is necessary. Adults of all ages and all backgrounds are very welcome to take part, for as little or as much time as they can spare. There is a very wide range of activities to get involved with – such as helping to collect wood from building sites; helping to prepare wood or make products in the workshop; working in the retail side or helping behind the scenes with admin, accounts, IT or marketing.
If you volunteer with us you will receive travel and lunch expenses and will undergo full H&S and other appropriate training before being expected to carry out any tasks. Suitable protective footwear and other protective clothing and equipment is always provided.
Many of our volunteers go on to gain permanent paid jobs with us, but at the very least you’d be working with a group of like-minded people (in a place committed to environmental protection and social justice) and developing your confidence and self-esteem, and a range of useful transferable skills… and having some fun too.
